missing my brother!
i realize that in my initial post, that the picture of my brother and i did not come up. so i thought i would dedicate this post to him. Christopher, i miss you so much! i could not ask for a better brother in the world. i have been telling all the people down here about you, how insanely smart you are and how you love golfing. i also love to show them the picture i have of you and i and the first thing they say is, "he's 12?? hes so much taller than you!" ...i'll add the picture of you and i to this post as soon as i get home. so in case you didn't know already, it would hard not to know, but i have the greatest brother!!
so besides the fact we have great food, we are lucky enough to have fans through most of the night, and i am with a great group of people...i am experincing some intense sweating (really pretty) and there are more bugs than you can ever imagine. there has been roaches, tonight i thought i had a tick in my ear, (i didn't) and the mosquitoes are everywhere! today i woke up at 5:30 am to run/walk with the girls (only hour of the day we are aloud to wear shorts)and you here the roosters making their 'cock-a-doodle-do's' (and just to let you know, its not only at sunrise, its all hours of the night and day...it gets old fast), the cow moo-ed at me each time i passed (a creole 'moo' i believe) and goats sound like little kids yelling...oh and you have the share the road with a good deal of chickens. the kids here yell "blan, blan" when you see them, blan = 'white person'...they either think we are ghosts, are completely scared of us, or just stare intensely. (him, what are little facts can i add? i will add more detail once i get home but i just want to give you a little snippet of everything!) each night there is a different missonary that has dinner with us and tells us about there reasons for staying here, its truly touching. okay, i am off to bed...yes its 9:30pm but remember what hour i get up (so motivating because they make us such a WONDERFUL breakfast...i've written down what we've had for every meal. look forward for that!)
much love, from beautiful haiti.
